Class Introduction

Congratulation, You have accompleted the previous 9 classes and reached a point that they can be linked into a continuous loop. When you finish every round of 4 movements of this loop, your orientation will turn 90 degree to your left. Four loops of practice could bring you back to the direction you started with. Make a complete 360 degree turning needs 4 loops, should be your minimum practice, so that your strength and circulation can be improved. The old form include 64 movements, and this section give you 4. With 16 counts, turning 360 degree 4 times, you can reach the same amount of work for one old form practice. However, we used to do 16 old form a day! Well, it is always good idea to take your own pace and not over doing it. Just want you to know how it used to be. These classes so far is intended to teach you the Old Form (Loa Jia) section 1 and section 2. Section 1 Wu Chi 1/ Tai Chi 2/ Buddha's Stamp. - Class 1 Section 2 3/ Lazy about grasping robe. - Class 2, Class 3 (transition) Six seals and four closures. - Class 4 4/ Single whip. - Class 5 5/ Buddha's stamp. I separate the movements of these sections into 5 classes in five sets of simple practices. The practice are simplified so that they are easier to understand and follow. Most of all, by being able to demonstrate the basic solidness and balance in these circles, the quality of section 1 to 2 in the old form can be performed. After class 1 to 5 you should be able to perform the above sequence in a continuous manner. You can practice this routine one or two hours a day if your body condition allow. It will be enough for you to sweat, gain health benefit and prepare a good foundation for the future study.
