Class 12 - Oblique Form Circles

Class Introduction

This class is to practice "Oblique form" in a fixing step manner. The original move will be taught in class 18. In this move, elbows are used to clear the space before stepping obliquely forward. At the end, both arm extend then back to neutral position. Exhale before you start to the next cycle. The torso rotates 90-degree each time in each cycle. Legs should provide solid base for the waist. Hips orientation should be adjusted and coordinated with the rotation as well.

Instruction Level: Static

The first 2 turns are with both arms stay same size around your torso. The leading hand stay down while more attension in the trailing palm and elbow. See static picture 3. In the third turn you extend your leading arm with trialing arm aside your ear. Then extend the trialing arm with a 10 degree turn.

With this move, you should have the motion flow first. That will take about 20 to 30 cycles a time and several days practice. After that, try to feel the drag feeling at the skin of your arm.
