Class Introduction

In class one you have learned the preparation circles for this move, the most important one in Chen style Taichi. Now you are ready to complete this move. The weight shift while the left foot step forward and the right foot follow up demand special attention to keep your torso straight up.

Instruction Level: Static

Different from class one, you need to make a step forward. 1/ Shift weight to left leg slightly and shift to right leg completely in order to lift up left leg, turn right feet 45 degree to your left. 2/ Quickly lift up left leg and step forward about 2 shoulder width. 3/ shift 70% weight to the left leg and perform a role back circle, facing front. 4/ Push forward with right palm, keep left palm above left elbow. 5/ Completely shift weight to left leg. Lift up right knee with right fist bend to shoulder. 6/ Stamp right foot relaxed on the ground. Do not use any force. Right fist on top of left palm. Arms form a closed circle.

Instruction Level: Static

From beginning to end, both of your arms are positioned in front of your torso like a ring. This ring is well linked through shoulder joints and perform a good structure balanced the self weight against ground. In a moment before lift up right leg, it also balance the intention toward front.

Instruction Level: Static

Arms flow with rotation of torso. Torso's rotation demand legs to support it. It is the easiest movie clip to follow.
